Originally US Navy Grumman UF-1 Albatross 137932, later redesignated HU-16C. It was retired to MASDC in June 1969. Registered N70276 in Jan 1989, then to N44RD in July 1990. Converted to HU-16RD soon thereafter, which is a highly-modified version with wide-chord nikkel-plated props, turbine APU, modern avionics, soundproofed interior with observation blisters, and longer wings. In March 1997 it featured as the logistics support aircraft for Linda Finch's around-the-world flight in Lockheed 10 N72GT, flying Amelia Earhart's route. Donated to the Hiller Aviation Museum in early 2013.
