Eighteen modern AW139Ms were ordered by Qatar for the price of 260 million euros in August 2008 with first deliveries in November 2009. In March 2011, Qatar bought another three AW139s, these in an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) variant. The AW139Ms, assigned to 20sq at Doha, are used for utility, troop transport, search and rescue, border patrol, special forces operations, law enforcement and homeland security operations.
