The first 747-400 for Qantas, delivered in August 1989 and setting a record for the first ever non-stop England to Australia flight in the process. To HARS in 2015 with some 106,000 hours on the clock, the flight from Sydney to Illawarra at the other extreme taking just 12 minutes.

Delivered new to Qantas in August 1989. left the fleet in November 2014 and preserved at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society at Illawarraa in March 2015

The 'City of Canberra' made the first ever non-stop England-Australia flight, on its delivery flight on 16 August 1989. The flight took 20 h 9 min from London to Sydney under the command of Captain David Massy-Greene. The aircraft previously wore the Boeing 'trade plate' registration of N6046P. Seen here on an early morning arrival on Runway 34.
