This aircraft was damaged beyond repair after it skidded of the runway at Mexico City on 21 July 2004. Dumped in a corner of the airport this airframe still survives at the time of this picture was uploaded to Airhistory.

Registration XA-BCS, is very appropriate, as BCS is the abbreviation for the state of Baja California Sur, home of Aerocalifornia. This short DC-9 was originally delivered in 1967, it crashed on takeoff in Mexico City in 2004.

Ex N1302T, registered 18th Dec 1988. On the 21st July 2004 Aerocalifornia flight 706 was the evening flight from Mexico City to Durango and Torreón. About half an hour late, the flight was cleared to takeoff from runway 05L. Immediately after rotation the flight encountered windshear forcing the airplane into the ground with a subsequent loss of control. All three landing gears collapsed and the right wing was destroyed.
