First flew 18th July 1962, taken on charge 1st August 1962. To Cyprus Sept.1983 as 8794M but brought back to the UK and stored 1985. Eventually went to the Gatwick Aviation Museum in July 1988 and is reported to have gone from there by June 2013 but with no details as to fate or whereabouts.

Basking in some nice late-afternoon sun. Following the death in Jan 2013 of the museum's owner Peter Vallance, some exhibits went to other museums and collections. By Jun 2013 this Whirlwind was no longer part of the museum's inventory, but its fate is unclear.
