This Juno wears the name 'Aries' as a tribute to aircraft operated by the Shawbury based Empire Air Navigation School who undertook long range navigation flights to develop techniques and equipment. The first aircraft to be named Aries was 'Aries I' Lancaster B1 PD328, which circumnavigated the globe in late 1944. Subsequently Lincoln and Canberra aircraft have worn the name (Lincoln B1's 'Aries II' RE364 and Aries III RE367, Canberra B2 'Aries IV' WH699 and finally Canberra PR7 'Aries V' WT528).
