On stand already are Boeing 747's G-BDPV of British Airways, C-FCRD of CP Air and N601BN of Braniff. Delivered new to Wardair as C-GXRA on 09 Jun 1978. To British Caledonian as G-GLYN on 01 Oct 1986. Merged into British Airways on 14 Apr 1988. To Philippine Airlines as N207AE on 28 Feb 1991. Reregistered to RP-C8850 on 04 Apr 2000. Seen stored at MZJ on 27 Jan 2003 and 20 Feb 2006 and since broken up.

Delivered to Wardair as C-GXRA in 1978. To British Caledonian as G-GLYN in 1986. Merged into British Airways in 1988. To Philippine Air Lines as N207AE in 1991. Reregistered as RP-C8850 in 2000. Withdrawn from use at Marana, AZ by 2003. Remains still there in 2006. Scrapped.

Arrived with Wardair August 86

In 1986, charter airline Wardair was granted permission to operate domestic and international scheduled service. The airline leased three A300s from South African Airways in August 1986 to bolster their fleet for the expansion. This aircraft was the first to be returned in August 1988 as new A310s ordered began to be delivered. Later converted to a freighter, it is current with Tripoli based Global Air Transport as ER-ABR at the time of uploading.

Wardair's first GE powered 747 was delivered new June 9, 1978. It was sold to British Caledonian Airlines in October 1986 as Wardair was changing from it's charter airline roots to scheduled service using smaller Airbus wide bodies.

Taken from Ringway's control tower on the airport's 40th anniversary. Three 747s are loading on Pier Three for transatlantic flights. WD8163 for Toronto. C-FCRD on CP819 also for Toronto and G-AWNL on BA081 via Prestwick to Toronto.
