Delivered to the USAAF as 44-83514 in 1945. Sold as N9323Z in 1959 and converted a firebomber. To the Confederate Air Force in 1978 and returned to military configuation as a warbird. They were renamed to the Commemorative Air Force in 2000.

Constructed as B-17G-85-DL 44-83514 by Douglas at Long Beach and assigned to the Pacific Theater of Operations, stored in Japan post-war. Redesignated as RB-17G in 1947 and signed for photo-mapping at Clark Field, Philippines. Transferred to Eglin AFB, FL in 1950 and converted to DB-17G for ASR operations. Converted again to DB-17P I 1951 for 3215th Drone Sqdn, Patrick AFB, FL. Converted to fire tanker late 1960, having become N9323Z. To Confederate Air Force 1977. Now flies as "Sentimental Journey" (sharing the same name as Pima's B-29) representing a B-17 of the 457th BG, RAF Glatton.

The aircraft taxies to take off with another load of passengers on a pleasure flight. The flights cost $495 for about 45 minutes. The aircraft is part of the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Airforce.

Entered service with USAF in April 1945. Converted to a TB-29 in March 1952. Transferred to Davis-Monthan AFB (4715th Revron) in June 1959. Loaned to Pima in 1975, where the marking of 'Sentimental Journey' were later applied. Some of the wartime stories include crew complaining about the lack of windows in the back. A flack hit fixed that problem for him. Battle damage repairs (on the flap) can also still be seen. The aircraft was part of a squadron where the aircraft were named after the 7 dwarves. This one was named 'Dopey'. another surviving B-29 is the famous 'Doc'. The aircraft was used in the filming of the movie Enola Gay. During the filming, it was discovered that the wartime markings were still etched in the aircraft skin.
