Sold to Col.George Burling Jarrett for $100 in 1931 and while on display with the Jarrett Collection, its data plate was stolen. Sold to Frank Tallman 1950 and made airworthy 1955, when it acquired its c/n.'3'. When the Tallmantz assets were sold in 1966, it went to the Aeroflex Collection in New York. By 1973 it was displayed as B7270 in Wings & Wheels at Santee, South Carolina, moving to Florida in 1979 for display with the Wings & Wheels Museum in Orlando, when Wings & Wheels merged with Aeroflex and Dolph Overton III collections. Its true identity is not now known.

With 209 Squadron, the three vertical bars are the squadron marking at the time. The pilot survived the crash between German and Canadian lines and fled towards Canadian troops and safety. The aircraft was quickly repaired. On October 27 it was last noticed near St Denis in a dogfight with German Fokkers. Neither the aircraft nor the pilot were seen again. This F.1 was built ny Clayton and Shuttleworth in Lincoln and is one of only 5 original examples that have survived. From March 30, 1918, it entered into service and desroyed a total of 11 enemy planes (making it possibly the highest scoring WWI plane still extant). In September, 1918, it was forced down intact behind German lines and captured. The plane then became part of Hermann Göring's pre-WWII collection that formed the Deutsche Luftfahrtsammlung (German Collection of Aircraft). These were evacuated east in 1943 to avoid Allied bombing and eventually became part of this wonderful museum.

With this fighter, the most famous British type of WW1, eleven German planes were downed by two different pilots. After an emergency landing at the front, it was tested by the Germans and made part of Göring's Deutsche Luftfahrtsammlung. The collection was moved to Poland after coming under air attack in Berlin in 1943.

Only 1 of 5 Camels still in existence. Built at the Clayton & Shuttleworth Works in Lincoln, it served the 1st squadron of the Royal Navy Aeronautical Service (the RNAS) from March 30,1918. On 5 September 1918 the aircraft was forced to land on the German frontline, after which it ws captured. In total, 5490 Camels were built.
