This historic aircraft was imported by Milton Kent in 1927. Having been allocated the UK registration G-EBRN, but never taken it up, the aircraft was registered in Australia as G-AUGI. When the Australian registration system changed over it became VH-UGI. The registration lapsed in 1947, but the remains were beautifully rebuilt and returned to the Register on 6 December 2000. Although the registration VH-UGI is carried in small letters beneath the tailplane, the main markings represent its earlier identity as G-AUGI.

G-AUKA force landed in the Tanami Desert on April 10, 1929. The two crew had perished from dehydration before they were found. -AUKA was destroyed in a grass fire before it could be recovered. It then remained missing until an extensive search relocated it in 1978. The remains were moved to the museum and exhibited as they were found. The museum is at the old Alice Springs Townsite Aerodrome which closed in 1968.

VH-UHU masquerading as G-AUKA, nicknamed "Kookaburra". The story of G-AUKA is one of the most famous in Australian aviation history. Two men set off in G-AUKA in 1929 to search for the missing Fokker "Southern Cross" and disappeared themselves. By the time they were found in the desert, both men had died of dehydration. Their bodies were recovered but when they went back for the Widgeon, it had been destroyed by a grassfire. A new search for the Kookaburra in 1978 resulted in its metal remains being recovered . They are now displayed in a diorama at the Central Australian Air Museum in Alice Springs. As for the Southern Cross, it and its crew were found safe.
