Richarda Morrow-Tait and her navigator Michael Townsend left Cambridge on 18 August 1948 in this Proctor - ex NP353 - for an eastward flight around the world. They crashed the aircraft in Alaska. Undaunted, Morrow-Tait raised money for a replacement, Vultee Valiant NX54084, and they managed to complete the flight, landing at Croydon after one year and one day. Built in 1944 for the RAF as NP252. Delivered to the French AF at Pau in May 1946 and SOC in August 1949. Registered as F-BFXC in September 1951 and flown by the Aero Club of Le Havre from November 1952. Registration cancelled January 1964 and remains last noted at Dinard in 1965.

Taken on charge by the RAF as NP246 18th May 1944. Sold off 25th Nov.1954 and registered G-ANWU. Cancelled 15th April 1957 as Sold in Belgium, where it was registered OO-ARJ 21st May 1957. Following the expiry of its C.of A. 20th May 1964 it was used as a gate guardian at Grimbergen and subsequently scrapped and the registration cancelled 4th Feb.1970.

For telegraph operator and reconnaissance training, the Netherlands Air Force acquired 10 Proctors from British surplus in 1947. On the underside of the wing you can just make out the Netherlands Air Force roundel. This Proctor served with the Air Force between June 25, 1947 until October 1953 and was then scrapped. The back of the photo says "Lustrijka '47", which was an exhibition held in 1947. 'Lustrijka' is very likely the abbreviation for 'Luchtstrijdkrachten', which means Air Force. The aircraft still has the serial NP360 here which was later in 1947 replaced by W-11 after the new serial system became operational. Photo from W. Muntinga

Built by F.Hill & Son at Manchester Barton in 01.44 for RAF as NP179. Served in the communications role until sold in 09.55. It was not civilianised, but was scrapped at an unknown location.

Ex NP308 - wfu at Portsmouth Airfield, Hampshire June, 1960 and burnt 2 November, 1961.

Built by F. Hills at Barton, Manchester, in January 1944 for RAF as NP184. Civilianised as G-ANYP in Jan-1955. This was cancelled in Dec-1995. Displayed at the Torbay Museum wearing original serial. Stored at the South Australian Aviation Museum pending restoration in 2022. Arrived late 2021.

Built by F. Hill & Son at Barton in 1945 for RAF as NP182. Transferred to the Belgian AF as P-2 and later civilianised as OO-FEB.
