Seen taxiing back to the ramp after landing at what was then Port Columbus. Built as TC-47B 44-76959 and transferred o the US Navy as R4D-7 BuNo 99847. Cvtd to a TC-47J when assigned to the FAA. Was later N87907 with the US Department of Transportation.

Dellivered to the USAAF as 44-76874 then to the US Navy as 99836 in 1945. To the CAA as N7071C then N29 in 1957. Renamed to the FAA in 1958. Reregistered as N73 in 1963. To the Greek CAA as SX-ECF in 1965. Withdrawn from use at Athens in 1983 and preserved at the CAA headquarters. Moved to Tatoi in 2018.

Not much left of this former FAA DC-3. Last registered as N2299Y, in 1978, but now with only its old FAA registration N47 visible on the fin. Most of her useful parts have probably gone to keep Academy's own fleet flying.

Greek CAA airways checking aircraft ex USN 99836 and FAA N73 still operational in 1973

Beginning life as an R4D-7 with the USN in 3.45, this aircraft was acquired by the CAA (later FAA) in 1957 and registered N36 in 1963. Later being used by the DoA and DoT. Derelict by the time of this shot, she was sold to Genavco in 1994 and cancelled from the register in 2000, possibly being blown up for the filming of "Pearl Harbor"
