This is the first AS-350 for the North American market, the mother of all A-Stars, as the Ecureuil or Squirrel is called in North America. Note the additional "North American Model" titles.

Delivered as an AS350C, Maple Leaf was not happy with the reliability of the original Lycoming engine and converted this Astar to AS350B standard with a Turbomeca Arriel engine. The helicopter left Canada February 1989 to eventually become N101FW. It returned to Canada June 2007 as C-FODI with Expedition Helicopters, who further upgraded it to AS350BA standard.
