The Indian Air Force has received 36 Rafales by 2025. The single seat version is dubbed Rafale EH, BS015 was first noted in July 2021 and is seen here on static display at Aeroindia 2025.

Four Indian Air Force Rafales were deployed to BA105 Evreux to support the Indian contingent that participated in the French National day parade (also named Bastille day) over the Champs-Élysées, Paris on 14 July 2023. The Indians were invited because in 2023, France and India celebrated 25 years of strategic partnership. Three Rafales made part of the massive formation flight that consisted out of over 70 aircraft. Although unmarked, this Rafale belonged to 101sq "Falcons"based at Jalpaguiri/Hashimara AFS (India). The aircraft made its first flight late 2021 and was delivered on 22 Feb'22.

First flown in September or October 2020 and delivered to the IAF on 27 January 2021. Te Rafale was then assigned to 17 squadron "Golden Arrows" at Ambala AFS. It is not clear if the Rafale still is assigned to this unit at the time of Aero India 2023.

First in the IAF Rafale series of these multi-role combat aircraft from No. 17 Sqn. "Golden Arrows" rocketing into the air at Aero India 2021. This is the maiden participation of the Rafale at Aero India. The 'BS' prefix is in honor of Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa to thank the former IAF Chief for his role in procuring the much-needed jets, the first of which arrived on 29 July 2020 at Ambala AFS and was received by Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Chief of the Air Staff.

Feeling the rafale of the Snecma M88 turbofans on an extremely hot day as the aircraft taxiis by to fly before the Hon'ble President of India and Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces. The honor of leading the Rafale detachment during its maiden participation at Aero India 2021 went to Gp Capt Neeraj Jhamb "Jammy" of No. 17 Sqn. "Golden Arrows", shown heading out. This gorgeous and potent multi-role combat aircraft is a game-changer for the IAF, long awaited by the Indian public.
