Very early Fiat G-91 on one of the first visits of the type to the UK. Would have been operated by 103 Gruppo, 5a Aerobrigata, the only G-91 unit at that time. The show was commemorating the 10th Anniversary of NATO, hence the NATO emblem on the fin. The aircraft was later converted to G-9!PAN standard with the Frecce Tricolori and was damaged beyond repair in a heavy landing at Ramstein on 29th June 1981. Photo by Roger Wright.

Early Fiat G.91s. In the background are USAF F-86Ds undergoing maintenance at Fiat, including 52-4101, which crashed in France on 16 January 1959. The G.91 production line was set up at the old Turin airfield, but the prototypes were built at Caselle where Sabre night fighters were also manufactured and maintained.
