The date of this photograph makes it the prototype N-1 which apparently crashed before getting airborne. Although it was rebuilt, it was the second N-1 which made the maiden flight. Also known as the Davis Gun Carrier on account of the heavy calibre intended to be fitted to. Project cancelled after four aircraft, two of which were written off.
