Korean War photo. VX730 was damaged in a forced landing on to Currarong Beach NSW on March 9, 1959. The Australian War Memorial has a Sea Fury displayed as VX730. It has extensively researched this aircraft and says it is basically VW232. It believes the real VX730 was accidentally scrapped and VW232 substituted with its identity before delivery to the Sydney Technical College. Because VX730 had been a combat veteran and VW232 had always been an instructional airframe with the RAN, the Sea Fury is displayed as VX730. Photo from: Imperial War Museums

Delivered to the Royal Austalian Navy as WH587 in 1952. Sold in 1963 and stored at Bankstown, NSW. Shipped to the USA and registered as N260X in 1965. Cancelled from the register in 2018. Restored as N260GF in 2024.

Delivered in 1949 and by 1965 was gate guard at here at HMS Albatross (Nowra). Allocated to Museum 1974 and then with RAN Historic Flight 1996 to 2002 registered VH-NVS

This Sea Fury arrived in Australia as deck cargo aboard HMAS Vengeance in 1952 and served the RAN till 1959 when it was installed in a test rig at the National Building Technology Centre in Sydney, used as a wind machine to test building materials. In 1986 it was placed at the Australian War Memorial near Canberra but next year went into store until trucked as a stripped airframe to Nowra in 1998 where it was used in the restoration to flight of Sea Fury VW623, then being placed on static display in the FAA Museum. Moved to HARS in 2020 where it is intended to return it to flight again.

A very nice exhibit (even if the cockpit canopy reconstruction is somewhat suspect). One other Sea Fury is preserved in Cuba, 541 at Playa Girón on the Bay of Pigs.

Sold in 1991 and became G-BUCM. On very long term restoration to airworthy state at Duxford with TFC.

Built in 1953 for the Iraqi Air Force as a Fury ISS serial 315. Bought by David Tallichett in 1979 and moved to Orlando. Rebuilt and flew in Apr 1991 as N36SF. Shipped to the UK in Sep 1991. Registered G-CBEL on 06Aug 2001. Flew in Dutch then Australian Navy markings. Exported to Australia as VH-SFW on 07 Oct 2009. Back to the UK as G-CBEL on 01 Jun 2016. Refurbished and painted as SR661, one of Hawker's Sea Fury prototypes. Still current in 2024.

Delivered to the Royal Navy as TF956 in 1947. To Hawker Siddeley in 1960 and stored then restored to airworthy condition for the Royal Navy Historic Flight in 1970. Crashed into the sea off Prestwick in 1989 and destroyed.

Ormond Haydon-Baillie's Sea Fury in pseudo-RAF colours taxying in after displaying at the Duxford Open Day. Lodged with the Historic Aircraft Museum Collection at Southend after its North Atlantic ferry flight from Canada in November 1973. Registered as G-AGHB 9th May 1974 and moved to Duxford with Haydon-Baillie's other aircraft, CT-133s G-OAHB and G-WGHB. Written off in forced landing in Germany June 1979. Wreck to USA in 1983. Believed to have been registered as N985HW. Rear fuselage used in rebuild of composite comprising parts from VX715, WJ290 and WH589 as N4434P. Adopted ID of WH589.
