Built as 42-56036, this Lodestar was one of twelve allocated to Canadian Pacific Airlines (CF-CPG) by the US Joint Chiefs of Staff via Air Transport Command in World War II. In the fleet 1944 - 50, it became N4851V with Babb Co and later Bethlehem Steel. Converted to a Dallaero Lodestar in the late 50s to early 60s, it was registered N1940S in 1964. The aircraft is now part of the Mid America Flight Museum collection.

This Dallaero Lodestar was still under restoration when this photo was taken. It has its props missing and the "Superman's Daughter" nose art has partly worn off, but other than that it appears to be in good condition. The aircraft made its first post-restoration flight here on 26 Nov 2011 and was later based at Mount Pleasant, TX, painted with USAAF insignia on fuselage and wings.

Built in 1943 as a Lockeed C-60A 42-56036. Served as an executive aircraft for many years postwar. Still (1997) relatively unmodified from its original wartime specification.
