ex USN 84062, N9989Z

Ex Bu37537 delivered in December 1945 and struck off in December 1956. Became N6651D in 1957 and was converted to a borate bomber by Wenairco in 1962. Flew with various operators until February 1984 when bought by SI Verschoot of Custom Farm Service of Montana who placed the aircraft with the Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola where it was displayed unmarked until 1988, when put into storage. Displayed as 37537 on the USS Lexington in Corpus Christie by 1993 and awaiting restoration with the Commemorative Air Force at Midland, Texas by 2000. Cancelled from the US register in November 2014.

Later restored as a warbird.

Sadly the sun had gone in by the time this rare bird took to the air.

Photographed in the restoration yard of the Commemorative AF Museum at MAF. Previously identity was 37537 and she is on loan from the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola.

Delivered to the USN as BuNo 37633 in August 1945, she was in storage at Litchfield Park by January 1946. Sold at NAS North Island in May 1957 as N7454C with 36 hrs TT! To Aircraft Specialties August 1964 and converted to a sprayer. Last flown in September 1985 and stored at Falcon Field since then. Now sports a star and bar insignia. A portion of the civilian registration is barely visible to the right of the insignia.

The Harpoon maritime patrol bomber was developed from the Ventura which itself was based on the Lodestar.
