After years of storage reserved for the National Museum of Naval Aviation , this Lockheed Electra / development prototype for the P-3 Orion was scrapped in 2016.

This Blue Angel F/A-18E was on display at the Naval Aviation Museum in conjunction with the squadron's change of command ceremony. This is an active US Navy aircraft and not part of the museum's collection.

US Army Air Force 43-46560 when delivered in 1944, this Hoverfly was transferred to the US Coast Guard (who had trained pilots and and mechanics with the type 1943 - 45) in 1946. Working for a time as a cropduster after 1948, the helicopter was acquired by the National Naval Aviation Museum in 1984.

After a 14 year restoration F4U-1 02465 is now on display in the National Naval Aviation Museum. It was accepted by the USN on 26 March 1943 and assigned to the Carrier Qualification Training Unit (CQTU) at NAS Glenview, IL on 29 March 1943. On 12 June 1943 02465 went into Lake Michigan after a nonfatal landing accident on USS Wolverine. It was salvaged from the lake on 12 November 2010 and delivered to the museum where the restoration was accomplished.

The first Grumman TC-4C Academe delivered to the US Navy (December 5, 1966), this aircraft was retired to the National Museum of Naval Aviation circa 1995. It is pictured in the extensive reserve collection on the ramp behind the museum exhibits awaiting room for display and restoration.

After donation to the NMNA in 1976, the surviving VS-44 was later transferred for an extensive restoration at Sikorsky's Stratford CT airfield, where it was built in 1942. First operated by American Export Airlines with beds, dressing rooms, galley, snack bar, lounge and full ventilation, it was impressed for war service by the USN as JR2S-1 12391, carrying passengers and freight between New York and Foynes, Ireland. In 1949 Tampico Airlines attempted to start freight runs in the Amazon but abandoned the VS-44 in Peru. In the late 1950s it was recovered to California for Avalon Air Transport.

This T-6B was on display in conjunction with a change of command ceremony in the Naval Aviation Museum atrium. This aircraft is on active US Navy service and is not part of the museum collection. Training Squadron 6 is based at NAS Whiting Field, Florida and uses the nickname "Shooters".

Navy T-6s in air force colours can only be found at NAS Pensacola, these T-6As were delivered to this unit to combine air force and navy pilot training.

Navy centennnial markings are worn by this T-6A of the locally based unit from Pensacola.

Delivered to the US Navy as 92468. Stored at Litchfield Park, AZ by 1957. Sold in 1957 and towed to Buckeye, AZ. Registered as N9964Z in 1960. Operated by the Confederate Air Force from 1975 who changed their name to the Commemorative Air Force in 2002.

Delivered to the USAAF as 41-20603 in 1942. Registered as N62130 by 1973. Badly damaged when it ran off the runway while landing at Port Townsend, WA in 2020.

Ordered by the US Navy as PV-1 33322 and transferred to the RCAF as Ventura GR Mk.V 2202 in 1943. Sold as N5776N in 1951 and converted to civilitan cofiguration in 1952. Converted to a Spartan Ventura in 1954 then converted to a Howard Super Ventura and reregistered as N507N in 1959. Converted to a Howard 350 in 1966. Impounded for drug running in Oklahoma in 1975. Operated by the US Customs Service from 1976 then preserved at Pensacola from 1978. Airlifted to Fernando Beach by helicopter for restoration in 1986. Damaged beyond repair in transit and broken up for parts.
