Located within Montekristo Estate, Hal Farrug, just across the road from Luqa. Very probably the remains are still on site at time of posting.

A Wideroe DHC-7 in old colours. This one came into the fleet of the Norwegian domestic carrier in 1983 and was sold to National Aviation of Egypt in 1996. After final operations in Libya with Benavia (as VP-CDZ and HB-IVX), the aircraft was wfu at Malta, noted in 2003 and again in 2010.

I would've loved to see the cockpit of this rare find, but unfortunately the cabin was too cluttered and dusty to properly go through.

Despite an airport with good vantage points and an airshow taking place, I would have to say that this is one of my favorite photos from the trip. I just love finding rare birds like these, although sadly this one is obviously in quite a poor state. Ex. C-GFUM, LN-WFG, SU-MAC, VP-CDZ and located at 35°51'15.5"N, 14°27'39.5"E at the time of this photo.

Seen outside at Medavia, this DHC-7 had not flown in many years. Sorry for the peek into the ladies' toilet.
