Air Alsace acquired this Friendship from a corporate operator in Belgium in the summer of 1980; the aircraft still shows the basic ATI colours, but should be repainted in a standard Air Alsace colour scheme a few weeks later. - This aircraft spent its last ten service years with Mesaba Airlines as N266MA and was finally flown in the full red Northwest Airlink colours. It was dismantled at Wausau WI in 1995.

One of the five Fokker 27s of Air Tanzania, seen at Munich-Riem shortly after a thunderstorm. It still has the old Air Tanzania colour scheme (the new one included a blue roof top); I suppose it came in on a fuel stop on its way to the Netherlands. - The Friendship was sold to BMA as G-BMAU in 1983 and was lost in an accident during a training flight to East Midlands in 1987.

Air France have used their Fokker 27s on night mail routes for over 30 years, generating quite low total airborne times on these airframes. Therefore, the 1968-built Friendship shown here was still in existance in 2023, noted at Nairobi as 5Y-GMC, all white and in reasonable condition.

93+53, built in 1986, started as "950" with the East German Air Force. The helicopter flew in Germany until 1997, in the last four years with the Luftwaffe VIP-colours. Sold as LY-HAY, it was later handed over to Madagascar as a presidential transport. In 2002, it crashed as 5R-MVX in bad weather conditions.

Still wearing the East German number "513" after reunification, this MIG-21MF was re-registered as "23+17" a few days after this slide was taken. It was seen as such at Manching the following year, refurbished and in good shape. Nevertheless, it was obviously not flown any longer and was probably broken up there; the airframe was noted at Oberjettenberg, being used for tests, in 1993.

The Swedish Air Force had acquired this Merlin IV from Golden Air; it was prepared for its new military duties when I saw it in Norway with a dual registration. The aircraft was used in Sweden until 1993 and was sold thereafter; recently it was seen as C-GTTM in service in 2022, and in storage at Calgary in 2024; its final (cargo) operator was Carson Air.
