Several of the German aircraft captured by the allied forces in 1945 that were flown to England for trials made a stop over at Gilze-Rijen in the Netherlands. Seen here is a two seat night fighter version of the Me262 with FuG218 radar of IV/NJG11 captured at Schleswig (code red 8). It carries RAF markings and the serial '305' on the nose. It was later allocated an Air Ministry number, AM50. This Me 262 is now preserved in South Africa. Photo on file at Gilze-Rijen Air Base Heritage Room.
