Delivered in June 1971. Became N84899 in June 1984. On 22 Nov 1989 the aircraft was doing a pre-delivery test flight at Luqa (Malta) when the port main gear failed to lower. The aircraft was slightly damaged in the ensuing landing. N84899 was then repaired and departed Luqa on delivery to Liberia on 15 December 1989. Its N-registration was cancelled on 18 January 1990. The aircraft was written off in December 1992 during the civil war in Liberia.

Several of the German aircraft captured by the allied forces in 1945 that were flown to England for trials made a stop over at Gilze-Rijen in the Netherlands. Seen here is a two seat night fighter version of the Me262 with FuG218 radar of IV/NJG11 captured at Schleswig (code red 8). It carries RAF markings and the serial '305' on the nose. It was later allocated an Air Ministry number, AM50. This Me 262 is now preserved in South Africa. Photo on file at Gilze-Rijen Air Base Heritage Room.
