Delivered to Air France as F-GBEC in 1980. Damaged beyond repair in a hijacking attempt at Marseille in 1994 and scrapped there in 1995.

Back in the days before the Channel Tunnel was built, London-Paris was a much busier air route than it is now, with many wide-body services.

This Airbus was damaged beyond repair at Marseille-Marignane Airport (LFML/MRS) on December 26th, 1994 when it was stormed by french special forces after a two day hijacking. Three passengers and all four hijackers lost their lives during this criminal act.

Delivered new 8th Apr 1980 and on the 26th Dec 1994 the aircraft was hijacked at Algiers by 4 members of the GIA (Groupe Islamique Armee) and flown to Marseille two days later. The aircraft was stormed, causing substantial damage to the aircraft and was declared a write-off. All four hijackers and three passengers were killed.
