Ex XY-ACN, G-AKNB, Indian AF and RAF FD789, USAAF 42-32817. Became EI-BDU on 18 October 1978 and was restored as G-AKNB on 29 January 1982, before going to the USA as N59NA on 22 July 1985. It still flies (with its original USAAF serial) as 42-32817/3J-B, with the name Bones, in spurious D-Day colours.

ALCI Aviation Limited of Oshawa, Ontario (aka Enterprise Air Inc.) began flying this Basler BT-67 on contract with the White Desert travel company in Antarctic during the 2019-2020 tourist season. White Desert guests fly from Cape Town to Antarctica in a Gulfstream G550 or G650 bizjets and land on Wolf's Fang blue ice runway (aka Blue One) in Queen Maud Land. The ALCI ski-equipped BT-67s fly guests between camps. Originally flown in the UK as RAF FD789 and G-AKNB, it was exported to the US in 1989 as N59NA. To Basler in 2014. To BT-67 N141PR in Sep. 2018 and to Canada in Nov 2019 as C-GOOU.

The small Aces High logo on the leading part of the fin was later removed.

Bought by British European Airways ex XY-ACN (Union of Burma Airways) and here in later service with Silver City. Changed hands several times and its last UK assignment was as an exhibit at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, 1982 to 1989, after which it was exported as N59NA. In 2014 it was converted to Basler BT-67 Turbo and current as C-GOOU in 2021.

Ex RAF FD789 and USAAF 42-32817, painted in fictitious RAF marks CR496 for its role as Winston Churchill's transport in the movie The Eagle Has Landed. Operated with a number of airlines as G-AKNB before and after its time with Clyden Airways. Went to Northern Airways in Jul 85 as N59NA. Later to Basler for conversion to BT-67 and then to Airtec as N141PR. To ALCI Aviation Oct 2019 as C-GOOU. Was still operating 12 Mar 2020.

This frame has too long a history to detail here. A shortened version is that it was once with BEA, Silver City and BUA. After Intra it went Clyden Airways in Oct 78 as EI-BDU. Back to UK as G-AKNB with Aces High in Jan 82. To Northern Airways Jul 85 as N59NA. Converted to BT-67 by Basler. To Air Tec Aug 2018 as N141PR.

This DC-3 is no stranger having previously been based at Dublin as EI-BDU of Clyden Airways and as G-AKNB with a variety of UK operators for many years before that. It was converted to BT-67 standard by Basler at Oshkosh and is in pristine condition. It stopped off for fuel while routing from the USA to Djibouti via Goose Bay, Keflavik, Dublin, Genoa & Cairo.

Three classic props feature in this image. Clyden was a short-lived cargo operator which had gone out of business early in 1981, while Aer Turas Britannia EI-BBH still had six months or so of service left before being sold in Zaire.

Manufactured in 1942. Similar markings to Tico Belle.

EX RAF FD789 March 1943 until April 1947. Converted to 32-seat "Pionair" standard for BEA. Operated by Silver City and BUA group companies December 1959 until February 1968. Current in 2011 as N59NA.
