Delivered to the RAF as RF342. To Napier as G-APRJ in 1958 and used for icing research as G-29-1. Used as a ground trainer at Cranfield from 1962. Last flight to Southend for preservation in 1967. Sold in 1983 after the museum closed. Dismantled and moved around different locations in the UK. Shipped to Australia in 2007 and stored at Moorabbin, Victoria.

The majority of the aeroplane ended up with the Australian National Aviation Museum while the nose (a Lancaster nose from the pilot's windscreen forward, ex-TW911) went to Flying Heritage, Seattle.

Arrived from Cranfield on 9th May 1967 for the BHAM. Following the demise of that museum, the aeroplane was moved to a new site on the western side of the airport as a founder of the Historic Aircraft Museum (Southend). The museum can be seen under construction in the background and opened in May 1972. Clearly seen is the Lancaster nose (from the pilot's windscreen forward) ex-TW911, fitted in the late 40s/early 50s.

Used for aerofoil icing research from 1959 until retirement in 1962. Later it was displayed in the Historic Air Museum at Southend (EGMC).

Overview of the short-lived Historic Air Museum just after takeoff on SEN's r/w 24 in an Auster. The Beverley XB261 was, sadly, broken up in 4.89 well after the HAM went under, but the Lincoln (G-APRJ/RF342) survives in a dismantled state, partly in Australia. Also visible are Mitchell N9089Z (painted as 'HD368', now dismantled at Booker), Harvard LN-BNM (now in the RAF Museum at Hendon in its original RAF colours as FE905) and Drover G-APXX (now also stored at Booker)
