This photo was taken when the aircraft was on approach to the seldom used S-W/N-E runway (now closed) and shows the mud on the belly picked up from dirt airstrips. No cream puffs in this business - they were just delivery trucks with wings.

Registered as G-AYIR and CS-TAF for short lease to SATA Air Acores prior to delivery to Rousseau Aviation as F-BSRU in 1970. To Air Botswana as A2-ABC in 1975, United Air Services as ZS-LHN in 1982 and Zambia Airways as 7P-LAI in 1983. Back to United Air Services as ZS-LHN in 1984. To G-AYIR then to Northland Air Manitoba as C-FTTW and Northland Air Manitoba in 1986. Renamed to Air Manitoba in 1990. To Wasaya Airways in 1996. Destroyed by fire at Sandy Lake, ON in 2012.

Pictured recently delivered from South Africa via Stanstead, C-FTTW still wears Air Botswana's color scheme. Leased to Wasaya Airways in November 1996 the aircfraft was sold to the airline in January 1999. While off loading fuel from bladders on June 12, 2012, the aircraft caught fire and burned out at Dandy Lake, Ont.

First with Rousseau Aviation after being registered as G-AYIR by HS in 1970, this 748 ended its days in Canada with Wasaya. Burnt out when parked after arrival at Sandy Lake Airport, ON for a fuel drop off. Note the custom-fit hangar doors to keep the cold out in this 1988 record. When I shot C-FTTW in the same place two years earlier, it was still in ex-Air Botswana colours
