BMA took on the former Channel Airways services from Southend to the Channel Islands from 3rd March 1972, G-APNE carrying our the first flight. Channel had gone into receivership and ceased flying on 29th February 1972. Note the marshaller with his "SMA" jacket - the initials of Southend Municipal Airport, as it was known at the time.

F/F 9 March 1959 and delivered on 17 March 1959 to Transair, which airline was merged into BUA 1 July 1960. Leased to Alia-Royal Jordanian Airlines as JY-ADA 16 Oct.1966. Following a landing accident at Kuwait 18 Nov.1966 it was registered back to BUA and ferried back to Gatwick 6 Dec.1966. Sold to British Midland Airways 1 April 1967 and to Arkia as 4X-AVE Sept.1972. To Go Transportation May 1982 and ferried to Tucson, Arizona for storage and parts recovery. The remains were donated to Pima Community College Aviation School circa Jan.1992 for instructional use, still in Arkia livery.

Built in March 1959 as G-APNE for Airwork. Later flew for BUA and British Midland Airways. Bought by Arkia as 4X-AVE in September 1972. To Go Transportation at Tucson for spares use in May 1982 and stored.

The former G-APNE seen here after acquisition by GO Transportation and stored in the company of several other Viscounts, including 4X-AVG in Arkia's earlier colours. Slowly dismantled but several substantial parts including forward fuselage were still extant there

Delivered from Hurn 3.59 to Transair which merged into BUA next year. Leased to Alia as JY-ADA for two months from 10.66, then operated by BMA, but leased to Ghana Airways 10/11.68. Noted in Arkia livery 7.72 but returned to BMA service as seen here for a short period and delivered to Israel a few days after the photo as 4X-AVE.
