This is how the Cargo ramp looked like in vintage times: DHL CV580's and Southern Air Transport C130's and DC-8's

Built as a 340-47 in 1953 for National Airlines as N8419H. Converted to 440 N5813 in 1966 and then to CV-580 in July 1966. Became C-GGWG in 1984 and converted to a freighter in 1987. Operated by DHL as OO-HUB and later EC-GSJ, before returning to the USA (registered as N590X, but registration not carried) in 2006.

K25 slide scan. Delivered 1953 as CV-340-47 N8419H to National. Traded in to Lockheed 1960 and sold to Allegheny Airlines. Converted to CV-440 and later to CV-580. To Aspen Airways 1976. To Commuter Airlines 1978, Freedom Airlines 1981. After Freighter conversion to EAT/DHL in 1988 as OO-HUB. Transferred to Swiftair as EC-GSJ in 1998, withdrawn 2004. To Air Tahoma 2006 as N590X, used as spares ship and noted 2014 at Columbus, OH parted out in full DHL colours still carrying Spanish registration.

Delivered new to National as CV340-47 N8419H. Sold to Allegheny and converted to CV580 7/66. Shot from my canoe in the Potomac as it lands on 33 at DCA.

Originally delivered as a CV-340 to National in 1953 and sold to Allegheny in 1960, she later underwent two conversions, first to CV-440 and then to turboprop in 1966. Bought by Commuter in 3.78; airline name changed to Freedom in 5.80 and sold to Air Ontario in 10.84 then EAT as OO-HUB in 3.88 for operation by DHL. Leased by Swiftair as EC-GSJ to continue DHL work; ferried to Columbus-Rickenbacker in 4.06 to become N590X but stored in 2010 still with Spanish reg.
