K25 slide scan. Built 1948 as 45-57814 for USAF, surplus 1954, sold as N2047A . Acquired 1956 by TWA, uprated and modified as flying workshop and spare engine carrier. Registered N9701F, in use until 1972. Briles Wing Helicopter 1973, Ball Brothers 1978, Northern Pacific Transport 1982, Alaska Aircraft Leasing 1987, Hawkins and Powers 1992. Restored to flying condition and flown 15 October 2006 to Aviation Museum, Hagerstown, MD as final flight of type.

Ex N2047A, 45-577814. Seen here during a night stop during its final flight from Greybull, Wyoming to the museum in Hagerstown, Maryland, this Packet was operated in Europe by TWA for over 16 years until 1973, and was an occasional visitor to Heathrow.

In 1998 this rare Packet was painted with "U.S. Air Force" titles and insignia, for its participation in the EAA Airventure 1998 airshow at Oshkosh.

Owned by Hawkins and Powers for many years. Bought by the Hagerstown Aviation Museum and flown from Greybull, WY to her new home in Hagerstown, Maryland 12-15 October 2006. On display at the museum in 2018.

Ferried from Greybull, WY to Hagerstown, MD in October 2006, this Fairchild veteran was recently joined by C-119G N8093. Remnants of her TWA stripes still remain visible!

This aircraft was the last airworthy C-82 in the world when I took this photo in 2003. A few years later it was flown to Hagerstown, Maryland, where it is on display at the Hagerstown Aviation Museum. Barely visible on the side of the aircraft are the TWA stripes it sported in the 1950's when it ferried spare engines around Europe.

At the time this rare Packet (delivered to the USAF in 1948 as 45-57814) was used by Northern Pacific Transport to haul cargo (mainly fish) all through Alaska. It flew with TWA from 1956 to 1972, and the remnants of their livery are still visible on the fin and fuselage. Also visible are faded "Briles" titles, from its time with Briles Wing & Helicopter during the mid 1970s. In 1992 it was sold and flown to Greybull, WY, where it survived as the world's only flying Packet. In 2006 the Hagerstown Aviation Museum bought it, and the delivery flight to the museum on 15 October 2006 was the last ever flight of a Fairchild C-82 Packet worldwide.
