Built in March 1939 as a C-40A for USAAF serial 38-545. Civilianised in 1945 as NC48741. Then N37P and N299A. Was N712FM from 1962 and exported to Australia in 1982. Based at Mareeba from Jun 1982 until last flight in Oct 1983, then stored there until 1987. Registered VH-HID in September 1987 and restored to flying status once again.
