The most obvious damage on the remains of this plane (some visible at the left wing root, too), plus evidence of reuse of parts of the fuselage structure. The mishap occurred nearly 21 years before the photo date, when fuel starvation led to a crash landing just 0.5NM (some 900m) short of the Ft. Simpson runway.

Aircraft stored behind the Buffalo Airways office in downtown Hay River, with "Buffalo Freighter" titles. It was damaged beyond repair during an emergency landing in June 1994 due to fuel exhaustion. Another Buffalo DC-3 subsequently used the same registration (c/n 13028) and this aircraft was noted in RCAF colors at Buffalo's maintenance base in Red Deer, Alberta.

It is now in storage with Buffalo Air at Red Deer.
