Restoration of former Lee County Mosquito Control District is nearing completion. The aircraft will participate in the June 2019 event in Europe commemorating the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion.

Of the Army Missile Command. After being retired, this C-47 served as a mosquito control aircraft in Lee County, Florida as N834M.

Turin Aviation acquired the aircraft from the Wings of Dreams Aviation Museum in Keystone Heights, Florida and, after a bit of TLC over the past few weeks, the venerable aircraft completed her first flight in almost 4 years. With landing gear extended, the ferry flight from Keystone Heights to Tampa Executive was made at a leisurely 110 knots. Turin plans on restoring the aircraft at nearby Zephyrhills Municipal Airport and attending the 2019 "Daks Over Normandy" event.
