Ex TS798, operated jointly by RAF Transport Command/BOAC, registered to BOAC as G-AGNV on 20 August 1945, and cancelled on 7 May 1955 after service with Skyways. Flown to Staverton on 24 September 1964 for preservation, and painted to represent Winston Churchill's LV633 'Ascalon'. It later went to RAF Museum Cosford where it was initially displayed in false marks as MW100 before being painted in correct markings.

On display at RAF Museum Cosford. This York was delivered in Oct. 1945 to the RAF as TS798, but joined BOAC on 09 Dec 45. It was issued civil registration G-AGNV and was used initially for training. It then entered scheduled BOAC service as "Moreville" as part of the 'M' class service to Calcutta as a 50-seater aircraft. It was later named "Middlesex" and flew its last BOAC flight in Nov. 1954. The York was sold to Skyways Ltd. which retired it in May 1964, after which it made the final Avro York flight for permanent display.

Arrived 9th October 1964, ex-Skyways, making the type's last ever flight. Seen wearing fictitious RAF serial "LV633". Subsequently moved to the RAF Museum at Cosford where it remains on display in December 2022 wearing its correct RAF serial TS798.

Flew with BOAC from August 1945 to March 1955 then sold to Skyways and withdrawn from use in May 1965. Displayed by the Skyfame Museum at Staverton (EGBJ) masquerading as RAF serial LV633, then from 1972 by the RAF Museum at Cosford (EGWC) as MW100.

Painted as the first operational York delivered to the RAF, serving with 24 Sqn as Churchill's VIP aircraft, but is actually ex TS798 and ex G-AGNV.

Ordered as TS798 for BOAC. Built at Manchester Ringway and delivered direct to the airline in December 1945 as G-AGNV, serving until bought by Skyways in April 1955. Retired in October 1964. Preserved at Skyfame, Staverton and then at Cosford since 1972. [The true MW100 was completed at Ringway in 10.43 for RAF and retired in 11.51. Registered G-ANAA in 05.53 but broken up for spares in 1955.]

The York was a transport derivative of the Lancaster bomber, with a new fuselage and a third tailfin. Both RAF and civil Yorks served on the Berlin Airlift. Plugged windows on York freighters were sometimes repainted on, as seen here.
