On display at RAF Museum Cosford. This York was delivered in Oct. 1945 to the RAF as TS798, but joined BOAC on 09 Dec 45. It was issued civil registration G-AGNV and was used initially for training. It then entered scheduled BOAC service as "Moreville" as part of the 'M' class service to Calcutta as a 50-seater aircraft. It was later named "Middlesex" and flew its last BOAC flight in Nov. 1954. The York was sold to Skyways Ltd. which retired it in May 1964, after which it made the final Avro York flight for permanent display.

The York was a transport derivative of the Lancaster bomber, with a new fuselage and a third tailfin. Both RAF and civil Yorks served on the Berlin Airlift. Plugged windows on York freighters were sometimes repainted on, as seen here.
