Built for the USAF in 1952 as C-118A serial 51-3834, which the FAA quoted as its c/n, it served until retired to the MASDC "boneyard" at Tucson in April 1975. In April 1979 it was civilianised as N1036F and acquired by NAC in 1981, serving with them until 2001 when it was withdrawn from use. In September 2009 it was bought by Everts Air Cargo as a spares source to support their DC-6 fleet, and it's derelict hulk is thought to live on at their Fairbanks base. Note that evidence of its USAF history can still be discerned on the lower forward fuselage.

Delivered new to USAF as 51-3834 9th Dec 1952 and after some years of storage became N1036F with Northern Air Cargo 18th Apr 1979. Withdrawn from use PFAI (Fairbanks) some time in 2002 and used for spares by Everts

With its wings and tailed removed, this former Northern Air CargoC-118 is one of a lineup of DC-6 type aircraft awaiting the scrapman in the Everts boneyard.
