Great Lakes C-GQHA 1977, Air Ontario 1981, converted to freighter. EAT for DHL OO-DHF 1988, transferred to Swiftair as EC-HJU by 2000. Skyhaul ZS-SKH 2005. Crashed on approach to Amisi 27 April 2006 while operating for LIgnes Aeriennes Congolaises.

To European Air Transport Sep 88 as OO-DHF. To Swiftair Feb 2000 as EC-HJU. To South Africa in Jul 2005 as ZS-SKH. Written off 27 Apr 2006 in a landing incident at Lubutu, DR Congo.

This Convair was unusual in being a corporate aircraft converted to airline use--ordinarily it's the other end around.

This Convarliner was built as a 340 in 1954, converted to a 440 in 1960 and finally to a 580 in 1967. Great Lakes bought the aircraft from Allegheny Airlines in 1977 when they began replacing their 440s.
