The third Viscount, first flown on 28 August 1950 from Brooklands which still had a grass runway at that time. The aircraft wore a Vickers livery in 1952 and 1953 and again from March 1955. Scanned from a print with no info recorded, so Christchurch location is surmised. First flown on 28 August 1950 and loaned from the Ministry of Supply for the London-New Zealand Air Race. Used for various trials, then stored in 1958, the fuselage was cut and finally used for BAC 111 engine installation tests in 1961 before final scrapping. (Photographer Unknown)

Leased by BEA from Vickers-Armstrongs to participate as entrant No. 23 in the London to Christchurch NZ Air Race of October 1953. It was returned to V-A in 11.53 and was retired in 10.60.
