Victa Ltd (Australia) whose main product was and still is lawn motor mowers showed interest in the Henry Millicer design as a means of diversifying into an aviation related venture and put the aircraft into production in 1961. Previously RAAF A17-346 then moved to the Australian civil register in 1947 as VH-BCV, re-registered VH-AZG in 1955, VH-RGK in 1960 then VH-WTM in 1966. Aircraft hired from the Darling Downs Aero Club in 1977 for use in the film "The Mango Tree" and flown by Bundaberg Aero Club CFI Allan Peterson. Imported into Australia as G-AUHZ in September of 1928 for Aircrafts Pty Ltd. Crashed a fortnight after it was registered. The wreckage was sold to Messrs. N. D. Hagerty and A.H. Williams and rebuilt by QANTAS in Longreach, QLD. A new C of A was issued in 1933. In May 1939 it passed to M.M.Castle of Bundaberg, Qld, where this photo was taken. Previously an ex-RAF Auster with serial number MT137 built in 1942, it was civilianized on the UK register in 1954 as G-ANHM and exported to Australia in 1955 and registered VH-AZO. WD932 was the fourth production Canberra built and was flown to the US by Sqn Ldr A E Callard on 21 February 1951. English Electric's Chief Test Pilot, Roland Beamont then gave a spirited comparative display with the North American B-45 and the Martin XB-51 on the 26th of the same month. The Pentagon selected the Canberra, now designated B-57A. WD932 remained in the US and was allocated serial no. 51-17387 although this was never applied to the aircraft. Delivered to the USAF in 1944 as 44-74446 and then to RCAF (s/n 9223) in November 1950. Back to the US with a number of owners, it has crashed three times, 1987, 1994 and 2014 - the last one being fatal to the two pilots at the Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) Durango, CO.
