Sadly this aircraft was destroyed, and the 2 crew injured, at Fullerton Municipal Airport, CA., on 25th September 2004 when it crashed shortly after taking off with the rudder and elevator gust locks still fitted.

In 1954 Bill Stout bought the design rights to the Ford Tri-motor after testing an original one the previous year. In 1955, Mr. Stout and his business partner proposed a modernized version as the Bushmaster 2000 (the "Ford Tri-Motor" name was unavailable for licensing). It took 11 years to build the first one, and this second aircraft was completed in 1985. Even modernized, the Bushmaster compared poorly with modern aircraft performance and no others were completed. N750RW crashed during a demonstration at Fullerton, CA September 25, 2004 when a control lock was not removed before flight.
