One of the last Geosurvey Catalina / Cansos operated in Canada, C-FJJG is ex US Navy 48423. It was sold in the USA as N423RS in 1986.

Originally bu 48423 with the US Navy during World War II, this Catalina was registered N4002A when sold surplus. Registered CF-JJG with Survair circa 1965, the aircraft worked twenty years mostly surveying for metal deposits. Later with Canadian Aero Service and Spartan Aero Services it was acquired by Kenting in 1976. To the USA as N423RS in 1986, it flew as an RAF warbird (and a time with Greenpeace in the late 90s). Owned by the Tunison Foundation since 2017, the aircraft is undergoing a restoration at the time of uploading as funds permit.

Greenpeace deployed this Catalina at Palma for fisheries control in the Mediterranean.

Originally built for the US Navy in 1941 and here in use on mineral survey work. In 1986 it was sold in the US as N423RS after which it spent time flying for Greenpeace and later, in the UK, painted as an RAF WW-II machine.
