Delivered to American Airlines as N7538A in 1961. To MEA as OD-AFQ in 1971 then to Pratt & Whitney Canada as C-FETB in 1995 and used for engine testing. Flew to Trenton in 2012 for preservation at the National Air Force Museum of Canada. It was the last ever flight of a Boeing 720.

P&WC's unique Boeing 720 engine test-bed was retired to Trenton when it made its last flight on 12th September 2012 from Saint- Hubert, PQ having been replaced by a Boeing 747SP. Engine tests included the PW150 for the DHC-8-400 which was mounted in the nose and turbofans on a fuselage right-side pylon. Originally N7538A with American Airlines, sold to MEA as OD-AFQ in 1971 and to Pratt & Whitney Canada in 1986.

When Pratt & Whitney Canada retired its Boeing 720-023B, C-FETB (for Engine Test Bed) in 2012, they donated it to the Canada Air and Space Museum in Ottawa which arranged for it to be displayed at the National Air Force Museum of Canada at CFB Trenton, Ontario. The aircraft was acquired from MEA in Lebanon and first registered in Canada in January 1986 when work began to modify the aircraft to be a flying test bed for P&WC's turboprop and turbofan engines. The PW150 for the DHC-8-400 was mounted in the nose and turbofans on a side pylon. It's see arriving from St-Hubert on its last flight.

This testbed aircraft was the last airworthy 720 and is now on display at this very interesting museum.

This is former American Airlines Boeing 720 N1304E in service from 1961 - 1971 Then with Middle East Airlines as OD-AFQ until the end of 1985. Pratt & Whitney Canada bought it for use as an engine test bed in January 1986. Retired in 2010 as it was replaced by 747SPs, the aircraft last flew on May 8, 2012 when moved from the company's Saint- Hubert, PQ base to Trenton, ON and donated to the National Air Force Museum of Canada.
