At the time of the photo, Ourdel cattle station was known as Mayfield. Then as now it was owned by the Kidd family. The fuselage of VH-DRB has been preserved at the Queensland Air Museum. VH-FDR at an outback airstrip after its Gipsy engines had been replaced by Lycomings. It crashed at Thargomindah, Queensland, on January 5, 1966, when directional control was lost on takeoff. Fuselage now at the Queensland Air Museum with a Gipsy engine fitted.

Scanned from a slide supplied by the late RFDS doctor Tim O'Leary, this photo was taken by the captain of a TAA DC-3 as both aircraft were returning from the Brunette Downs races to Cloncurry. VH-DRB would later have is Gipsy Major engines replaced by Lycomings and be reregistered VH-FDR. The fuselage is now displayed at the Queensland Air Museum with a Gipsy Major engine installed.
