Built in 1951 for the US Navy and imported by Millardair in 1984. At this date it was registered to Crown Mail & Delivery Services and carries subtitles that read 'Operated by Crown Charter Services'. Later it was registered to Gateway and still that way in 2023 although may be non-operational.

Stored at the Basler boneyard awaiting BT-67 conversion.

Midwest Aviation took delivery of this HS-748 in July 1969. By the end of 1969, they were taken over by Transair and the aircraft was sold to Gateway Aviation in 1972. When Gateway was bought by Northward Airlines in 1979, the aircraft was sold to Calm Air. Operated from 1979 - 2002, the aircraft was, at least for a time, the longest serving 748 in Canada. Stored at Thompson, MB, it was scrapped in 2007.

Since it was moved to Red Deer from Wetaskiwin, it has faded badly and also acquired a dented nose. Will it ever fly again?

Seen here stored in the museum's storage yard near the southeast end of the runway, about 1300 metres east of the museum main building. Later sold to Buffalo Airways and transported to nearby Red Deer in Jun 2009. Airframe sold to Basler and registered as N856YB in Sep 2018.

Acquired by Buffalo Airways from the Reynolds Alberta Museum as a spares airplane.
