Written off March 16, 1991 when it was shot down by a missile near Malanje Angola while cruising at FL170.

Delivered to Helmut Horten as D-ABHH in 1966. To Tenneco as N504T in 1975 then to Aravco as VR-CBX in 1987 and Government of Ras Al Khaimah as A6-RAK in 1988, To Transafrik as S9-TAE in 1990 then to Allendros de la Cruz as XA-ADC in 1993 and Aerotaxi Monse SA in 1995. Withdrawn from use at San Antonio, TX in 1998 and scrapped in 2013.

Upington seems to have the longest runway in South Africa. These 4 (ex) Transafrik 727's have been stored here for a few years and although they are running the engines regularly I doubt if they will ever leave again. The picture shows S9-BOC together with S9-BOD, S9-BOG and S9-BAG.
