This ATR 42 is a workhorse for Trigana in Papua. It serves daily flight connecting the province's capital - Jayapura - with many cities within Papua, such as Wamena, Dekai, Serui, Biak, Oksibil, Tanahmerah, and Merauke. Taken before boarding my flight to Wamena.

Trigana Air Service used to operate a wide fleet of DHC-6 Twin Otters to support logistics and pax movement to remote runways in the interior of Papua. PK-YPX served with Trigana from 2002 until 2020, when it reached the maximum flight hours/cycle allowed by the manufacturer. It has been put into storage since then.

Till 2003, this 1989 built airframe flew for Condor and Lufthansa as D-ABWF. Sold to chinese carrier Yangtze River Express as B-5055 which operated it as freighter till the end of 2016. Next stop was with congolese airline "Serve Air" (registered 9Q-DHJ and 9S-AHJ) before Trigana Air Service bought it in late 2021. The aircraft has no fixed base and for technical and operational reasons is being moved back and forth between Trigana's western (Java) and eastern (Papua) area of operation.

This 1986 built airframe started its career as PT-TEA (Transbrasil). Next stops were Aloha Airlines & Vanguard Airlines (both as N303AL), then w/ America West Airlines as N330AW from July of 1997. Registration B-2165 was assigned w/ Shandong Airlines in early 2002, followed by TF-BBX in September 2003 (Bluebird Cargo), XA-UDQ w/ Estafeta Carga Aerea in April 2005, and Aeroflot as VP-BCJ between April 2008 and September 2009. Safair then flew it as ZS-SMG before Trigana Air took it on strength as PK-YSE (04/2013). Cardig Air was next (PK-BBC), now w/ Jayawijaya Dirgantara as PK-JRB since 2019.

Arriving on it's first cargo run of the day to the Baliem Valley region in Papua province. Over the years, this 1986 built airframe carried registrations N5573K (for testflying), then B-2522 with China Southwest Airlines, Air China and Okay Airways, before becoming N23451 and finally PK-YSZ with Trigana around 2011. It was damaged beyond economical repair after a landing accident in Wamena on July 27, 2020. As of January 2024, Trigana operates eight 737-300 as freighters, plus one single 737-500 and six ATR42/72 in the passenger role.

The new member of Trigana Air's 737 fleet. Routinely fly cargo to Wamena from Jayapura, but now she has been repositioned back to Halim Perdanakusuma, Trigana's main base in western part of Indonesia to support the ever growing demand of cargo flights.
