Ex RAF PP238. Operated by LAC from 03.48 until it was written off in a crash near Great Missenden on 08.03.51. It had flown 228 sorties on the Berlin Airlift. It is seen arriving at Ringway to pick up a cargo of newspapers for Belfast.

Ex RAF PP282. Operated 159 sorties on the Berlin Airlift when owned by LAC. Damaged beyond repair on 17.12.52.

"Air Voyager" served LAC as a freigter from February 1948 until being damaged in a gale at Blackpool on 12.12.52. It is arriving at Ringway to pick-up 8 tons of newspapers for Belfast. Ex RAF PP282.

LAC's Dakota 4 has positioned from its Blackpool (Squires Gate) base to perform a charter flight from Ringway. Mancunians watch from the public enclosure as the aircraft is prepared for departure.

Built in April 1945 and served Lancashire Aircraft Corporation, based at Blackpool (Squires Gate), from July 1948 until February 1955.

This Consul six-seat light airliner was converted from wartime RAF Oxford trainer RR356. Seen at its Blackpool base, it was owned by Lancashire Aircraft Corporation and served them on scheduled and charter flights from 09.46 until scrapping at Stansted in 03.56.

LAC's Dakota 4 was normally based at Blackpool (Squires Gate) but is operating pleasure flights at Yeadon during the 1954 SSAFA air show. Ex RAF KN310, it served the airline from December 1952 until transfer to their Skyways associate in February 1955.

Halifax C.VIII's G-AJZY (left) and G-AKEC at Ringway to pick-up 8 tons of newspapers each. They will then take all of the 4200 ft length of the main Runway 24 to become airborne and climb slowly towards Belfast Nutts Corner.

Built for the RAF in 1939 as R5922 this DH.89, like many, was civilianised post-war as G-AKNV for Lancashire Aircraft Corporation, then to Eire as EI-AGK, returning to UK registry with Derby Avn in 1955 but same year to Avions Fairey as OO-AFG. After mods, Air Affairs became owners in 1962; next registered OO-CNP with Centre National de Parachutisme, she flew till a forced landing in 1970 and storage at Wevelgem. Donated to the Brussels museum in 1973, she has just emerged from an immaculate restoration
