Right main gear collapsed on landing Montevideo 10 October 1979, dismantled on site to clear runway.

from the NK collection. - Aerotransportes Entre Rios acquired five CL-44s ex Royal Canadian Air Force and operated this type between 1970 and 1978. Two were lost in accidents, two were sold, and this one was broken up at Buenos Aires in 1982 after a few years of storage.

Ex RCAF 15928. Other regns were LV-PRX and CX-BKD. Damaged beyond repair during hard landing at Montevideo, Uruguay October 10, 1979.

Being serviced in the cargo area at MIA. Originally built as a L-1049E.

Built for Royal Canadian Air Force in May 1961. Bought by AER in November 1970, it crashed on take-off from MIA on 27.9.75.

Ex Canadian Air Force 15928 and 106928. Served AER from December 1971 until November 1978 when sold as CX-BKD.

Delivered new to KLM as PH-TEP in August 1947. To PH-LDR. Fitted with freight doors. To AER as LV-IGS in April 1964. Seen in a crowded MIA freight area in 1972.

A genuine CC-106 Yukon delivered to the RCAF as 15925 in 1961 and acquired by AER on 13.11.70. Crashed in an aborted t/o at MIA just a month after this photo (27.9.75) after the ground crew failed to remove the gust lock on the right elevator; 4 of 10 survived but the aircraft burnt out after hitting a canal bank at the end of 27L
