Delivered in 1940 to Canadian Colonial Airways, which despite its name was a US airline from New York, although it had a Canadian subsidiary of the same name until 1942, when it was reorganised as Colonial Airlines. By 1947 it flew between Washington, DC and Ottawa, via Montreal, but also to Bermuda. Last registration of N(C)21758 was N1159S, destroyed by a hurricane in Puerto Rico in 1989. Photo from: Ingenium

Colonial Airlines were based in New York and acquired its first Skymasters in 1946 to serve their long overwater route to Bermuda. "Skycruiser Bermuda" was bought on 29 May 1947 and served Colonial until their merger into Eastern Air Lines on 1 June 1956. Sold to Independent as G-APCW on 11 August 1957.
